On April 17, 2025, we lost our set designer, creative director, and most importantly, our dear friend, Tim Baker. At the request of his loved ones, we are deeply honored to announce the establishment of the Tim Baker Technical Theatre Arts Fund at Center Stage. This fund will continue to bring life to Tim’s vision for our theatre by meeting technical theatre needs and bringing professional production values to our stage.
Tim’s impact on Center Stage and the Coast theatre community will long be remembered. His technical genius was unparalleled, but it was his ability to bring people together and create joy in the work we all love that we will miss most.
Tim spent decades creating magic in the arts and entertainment world. He was educated at Porterville College, CA and Stephens College, MO and designed and built more than 400 theatre sets across the country, as well as for hundreds of film and television projects, including the Emmy Awards, the Grammy Awards, and the Academy Awards. Tim was also a sculptor and master mold maker who designed for Hogwarts- Universal Studios and Star Wars: Edge of the Galaxy for Disney Studios.
To give in his memory to the Tim Baker Technical Theatre Arts Fund, you may visit https://centerstagebiloxi.ludus.com/donate.php and choose Tim Baker Technical Theatre Arts Fund in the Categories drop down menu, or give by mail (please note Tim Baker Fund on your check) or in person at the box office 2670 Rue Palafox, Biloxi MS 39531.
